Rodolfo Salazar
Rodolfo is a Partner at ZONE in Guatemala. He specializes in Dispute Resolution, Public Law, Public Procurement & Economic Regulation, Energy & Infrastructure, Environmental Law, and Occupational Health & Safety.
With more than 20 years of experience, he has distinguished himself in complex disputes involving both the public and private sectors, including international arbitration proceedings. His experience includes serving as lead counsel for the State of Guatemala in the defense of the country in the ICSID investment arbitrations ARB/09/05, brought by Iberdrola Energía, and ARB/10/23, brought by Teco Holdings. He is widely recognized for his advisory role in government affairs, public-private partnerships, public procurement processes, and energy and infrastructure projects.
Rodolfo joined BLP in 2016 following the firm’s establishment in Guatemala.
He is particularly recognized for advising on government affairs, public-private partnerships, tenders, public policies and strategies, as well as the development of energy and infrastructure projects, with extensive experience in national and international bidding processes. He also has significant experience in environmental mitigation agreements, environmental impact assessments, and stakeholder engagement processes for energy projects.
