Claudia Meléndez

Claudia is the Director of ZONE in El Salvador. She is an  Environmental Consultant with vast experience in Environmental Law. She has led Environmental Departments for regional firms, carrying out Due Diligence  with an emphasis on Environmental issues for mergers in international and national companies, including acquisitions of production processes, and industrial processing. She has extensive knowledge of permits for the establishment of renewable energy projects; permits, licenses, and procedures before public Institutions in general, and has experience in judicial and administrative sanctioning proceedings. She is a Lead Auditor in Environmental Compliance, Occupational Health and Safety Audits.

• Integrated Course on GHG Inventory Development and C-Neutrality, Information Systems for C-Neutrality, Carbon Auditors for Organizations and GHG Inventory Development and C-Neutrality.
• Certified as INTE-ISO 14001-2015 Internal Auditor in Environmental Management System. INTECO COSTA RICA year 2016-2017
• Certified as INTE-OHSAS 18001-2009 Internal Auditor, in Occupational Health and Safety Management System, INTECO COSTA RICA,  2016-2017.
• Certified as FSSC 22000 Internal Auditor, in Food Safety, INTECO COSTA RICA,  2016-2017.
• Internal Auditor in Energy Management Systems.
• Training in INTE/ISO 14001:2026 and INTE/ISO 19011:2018 Standards, Instituto de Normas Técnicas de Costa Rica (INTECO) and IQNet, May 2026.
